Check-in and Check-out

Your room will be ready from 3pm on the day you arrive.
Check-out is by 11am so we can prepare the House for the next guests.

If you would like to arrive a little earlier or linger a little longer, just ask. We cannot always promise it, but we will always try.

Cashless House

Hertford House is a cash-free space.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, with the exception of American Express.

Dogs

A small number of our rooms are dog-friendly. If you would like to bring your four-legged companion, please let us know when booking so we can make arrangements.
We provide a dog bed and bowls, and we ask that dogs are kept on a lead in public areas. There is a £20 per-stay fee for dogs.

Children

Cots are available on request and are complimentary.
Children are welcome to stay in their parents' room for £20, which includes breakfast.

Hertford offers lovely riverside walks, parks and independent cafés. Our team can recommend activities and family-friendly spots.

If Your Plans Change

If you need to cancel, please call us or cancel online and ensure you receive a cancellation reference.
Cancellations made after 1pm the day before arrival will be charged the first night's stay at the full rate.

If your booking was made through a third-party provider or gift experience company, their terms apply and amendments or cancellations may not always be possible.

Rooms

Each of our rooms has its own character and charm. From cosy townhouse corners to light-filled suites, every space is designed for comfort.
We will always do our best to honour room preferences and, should availability allow, we love surprising guests with an upgrade. Feel free to enquire ahead of your stay.

Rates

Room rates include VAT and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Parking is limited in central Hertford and is offered on a first-come basis. We will always guide you to nearby options if required.

Events

Hertford House often plays host to celebrations and gatherings. Some rooms sit closer to our social spaces.
If you prefer a quieter stay, let us know when booking and we will do our best to place you somewhere peaceful.

Ticketed events require a deposit or full payment at the time of booking. Deposits are non-refundable and cancellations made within 14 days of the event are chargeable in full.

Smoking

To keep the House feeling fresh, smoking and vaping are not permitted indoors.
We have designated outdoor areas should you wish to smoke.
